In Partnership with Idaho State University

The College of Southern Idaho and Idaho State University (ISU) have collaborated to assist Special Eduacation Teaching Certification students to access many classes online.

In order to obtain Special Education Teaching Certification through ISU, a student must already have a 4-year degree or be currently obtaining a 4-year degree in another area other than special education.

This program is ideal for:
• Individuals hired as Consultant Specialists in the area of Special Education
• Individuals hired on Letters of Authorization in the area of Special Education
• Individuals currently attending a 4-year institution in an effort to receive a degree in an area other than Special Education
• A paraeducator who is currently in the Education Assistant Program – Special Education or Generalist area will be able to use the majority of the credits earned to later earn Special Education Teaching Certification if they complete a 4-year degree program and the balance of the credits needed to complete this certification.

The articulation agreement between the Education Assistant Program offered through the PTC at the College of Southern Idaho and the Special Education Certification Program offered by ISU is as follows:
